The wine-growing region of LA RIOJA is clearly a spectacular PUNTO to the practice of cycling. Its privileged geographic situation between the Mediterranean and the Atlantic climate generate a diversity of landscapes that are difficult to find in such a small space -We are talking about the smallest community of Spain-
And yet, this is the reality... mountains, vineyards, quiet roads, the Ebro basin, traditional and modern wineries , traditional and modern cuisine, medieval monuments, monumental villas full of culture and history, and much more to see and discover.

  • Definition of formats

Format 1 - VILLAGES and VINEYARDS:

    • In this mode the tours are designed through spaces that combine culture, history and nature.
    • The sporty character of the route is not the main thing, in spite of this, we can made 50 or 60 kilometers at the end of the day.
    • Except for a few specific exceptions, we prevent the rise to mountain ports, Despite of all, at the end of the stage we can accumulate 500 or 700 metres of positive slope.
    • During the course of the stages we make "quiet" stops in which in addition to take our time for victualling, may be included visits to relevant points of the route, monuments, historical centres, etc. When we say "quiet" stops, we are referring to remove cycling shoes.
    • Once "hanging" bicycle, the program includes activities such as tastings of wine, visits to museums or centres of wine, etc.

    • In this mode the tours are designed combining visits to places of historical and cultural interest, with territory of clearly sporty character, essentially mountain ports.
    • The stages have a length between 70 and 100 kilometers. And a unevenness between 1000 and 2000 meters.
    • The duration of the rest stops will depend on the mentality of the group. that is, if the group wants to "tighten" tightens and if the group wants to go "more relaxed" relaxes.
    • The same philosophy as the previous point is used to decide if we do any "tourist visit stop" in some relevant monument, historical center or other point in the route. In other words, the group decides. When we say "tourist visit stop" we are referring to remove cycling shoes.
    • When we finish the route, the program includes follow-up activities as tastings at wineries, visits to museums, centres of wine, etc.

    • In this format, during the tour, the sporty factor will be more important than the tourist.
    • The stages have a length between 110 and 180 kilometers. And a unevenness between 2000 and 3000 meters.
    • The final definition of the track of each stage is done by adapting it to the volume of km desired by the group, that is, the group can decide if prefers to perform stages of about (per say) 120 km or closer to 180.
    • The duration of the rest stops will depend on the mentality of the group. that is, if the group wants to "tighten" tightens and if the group wants to go "more relaxed" relaxes.
    • Given the duration and requirement of the stages, which can have as a consequence a "plus" of tiredness in cyclists and perhaps a period of time reduced between the end of the stage and the hour of dinner, Non-sporty activities is an option to be agreed upon with each group.
